今回は英検1級のWritingパートでおなじみの「宇宙探査」の賛否です。2022年に出題した主要大学が劇増したので、一度考えを整理しておくとよいでしょう。この壮大なトピックはサポートを十分に構成するとなると、かなりの語数が必要となります。また、トピックとしては受験生たちがあまり考えたことないものですから、40-80 words程度の大学では出題可能性が低いのではないかと思っています。
Sci−Fi好きの私にとっては宇宙探査か地球かといったトピックは色々な想像力を掻き立てられます。上述した通り、このトピックで、客観的で納得できるエッセイとなると、100-200 wordsは必要だと思いますので、語数が100以上の大学を受験する場合は、一度体験しておくとよいでしょう。

Some people think governments should spend as much money as possible exploring outer space (for example, travelling to the Moon and to other planets). Other people disagree and think governments should spend this money taking care of our basic needs on Earth. Which of these two opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

左下の方にKドラマ（韓国ドラマ）--> Silent Sea -->コン・ユとありますが、マインドマップはこのくらいの簡単なレベルでよいです。私はドラマ・映画フリークなので、宇宙 VS 地球と聞くと、アメリカのドラマなら The 100, KドラマならSilent Sea、その主演のコン・ユさんが浮かびます。前者は核戦争で地球に住めなくなった100年後に若者100名が地球に戻って住めるかどうか確かめに行くミッションにいく話です。後者は、異常気象で水がなくなってしまい、月に大量にあるとされる水を探査するストーリー。
最初から核心に進むのではなくて、こういう遊びの中から本題が見つかったりします。Silent Seaから「異常気象」という考え方が手に入ります。そこから「宇宙開発必須 <-- 住めなくなる <---異常気象 <-- 地球温暖化」という展開にも気づけます。

Model Answer
I agree that governments should spend as much money as they can on the exploration of outer space for the following two reasons. First, we are in the midst of a survival risk. Scientists estimate that people cannot keep living here on earth in the future because of global warming. They say that it will have robbed one third of us of places to live by 2070. Second, the space development makes our life more comfortable. In fact, satellites have helped us build stabler and wider infrastructures. The man-made satellites of high quality allow us to have better access to the Internet or to get more accurate weather forecast. For these reasons, humans trying to outer space is beneficial for our lives on this earth.(125 words)

受験生の視点でいくと、ネタとしては語数を120以上に埋めるのが難しいと感じたので、最初にイントロを作り一旦譲歩となる情報を盛り込みました。語数も多くなることが想定できたので、パラグラフを分ける設定で構成メモを作成しています。

The development of outer space may do us much good, including better access to the Internet due to satellites of higher quality. But governments should spend more money on our basic needs on our planet rather than the investigation of other ones for the following two reasons.
One reason is that the space development requires a variety of skills and knowledge. They include not only basic academic ability but enough professional education. Governments’ financial support for education, in turn, would result in the better exploration of outer space.
Furthermore, agriculture is more important. In other planets such as Mars, people would have to be self-sufficient. But many countries, especially, Japan, rely on agricultural product imports too much. The increase of the rate of self-sufficiency is not just our present challenge but also our future. Therefore, the governments need to provide enough subsidies for agriculture sectors.

実際にライティングしてみたら、コンクルージョンを入れる余裕がなくなってしまった、という想定のModel Answerです。結論をスキップしても一貫性はまあまあありますよね。こちらはアウトライン作成からかなり厳しかったです。
